Location

Beautiful Kent and East Sussex

Interesting places

Positioned in a delightful rural corner of South East England

Rye School of English is perfectly situated in the peaceful ‘Garden of England’ Kent countryside, yet within excellent proximity to all the amenities the South East of England has to offer.

Our school is located in a peaceful 18th century farmhouse, surrounded by woodland and countryside. We are five minutes from the perfect English market town of Tenterden –  known as ‘The Jewel of the Weald’ – which has many excellent restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops.

The ancient city of Canterbury is an hour away, and the famous Regency town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is easily reachable in approximately thirty minutes. Both city and town have lots of shops, restaurants and nightspots, as well as a large amount of history, charm and character.

With some of the best weather in the UK, it is easy to enjoy our close proximity to the coast. We are half-an-hour from the sandy beaches of Camber Sands, and under an hour-and-a-half away from the famous coastal towns of Brighton and Eastbourne.

In addition to lots of things to do and see, our school benefits from excellent transport links. Central London can be reached in little over ninety minutes, and we are thirty minutes from Ashford International station, from which the Eurostar and high-speed services to London can be accessed. London Gatwick airport can be reached in approximately an hour, and the port of Dover can be reached in less than an hour.
