Rye School of English has moved to picturesque Rolvenden Layne, which lies in beautiful Kent; which is called the Garden of England, because it contains hundreds of small farms and fruit farms.

However, we are not far from Rye, which is famous for its cobbled streets and ancient prison and Tudor houses.

My name is Julie Wren and I work with my daughter, Helen.  We have had converted a stable block in our garden.  This gives us a large, peaceful classroom (with whiteboard; computers; audio machines; teaching materials and books) where we can enjoy teaching our students.

We are a small, family run school, which teaches English Language; English Literature; History (Primary up to GCSE) and Media Studies.  Also, we specialise in teaching English to foreign students.  We also teach Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

I have a degree in English Literature and History; teaching qualifications;  plus, I am a fully qualified TESOL teacher (Diploma in TESOL from Canterbury Christ Church).  I have over 30 years of experience in teaching English (Primary to A Levels), as well as teaching English to foreign students. I was an examiner for AQA GCSE English Language.

I have enjoyed teaching in Comprehensives, private and International schools.  Also, I have taught English Language and Literature to children, teenagers and adults to prepare them for exams from KS1 (ages 5 to 6) KS2, 11+, KS3 up to AS and A2 exams.  In addition, the International Cambridge Examinations.

My daughter, Helen, joined us in 2018, after she took her BSc degree in Mathematics.   She has had a variety of teaching experiences.  She has taught both primary and secondary mathematics, and Further Mathematics both online, at students’ homes  and in our classroom.  Helen prepares students  for exams from KS1 (ages 5 to 6) KS2, 11+, KS3 up to AS and A2 exams.  Also, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

Both Helen, my husband and myself are police checked - DBS.
